Logikparty to support Liars

It's always nice when a support band compliments the headliners, and that's certainly going to be the case when Liars come to visit Whelan's on August 11th. Dublin-based noiseniks Logikparty will be on support duties on the night. Expect them to gain a few more fans: their brand of caustic, dissonant, no-wave influenced post-punk should go down a treat with fans of the similarly-minded NYC trio.

Out On A Limb launch new website

The good folks over at Out On A Limb Records have just launched a new website at http://www.outonalimbrecords.com/. In the coming weeks they'll be adding nifty features including a shop. Also, anyone who subscribes to the mailing list on the website over the weekend will be entered into a draw for a free goodiebag.

In other Out On A Limb news, Windings will release debut single 'Brain Fluid', on April 16th, and an album will follow in the fall. Windings will be touring the country in late April as well as playing support to Ted Leo on May 8th in Whelan's.

A Sunny Day In Glasgow for Whelan's

Apparently they played to 12 people last time they were in Whelan's. If the brilliance of last year's Ashes Grammar LP - a suite of MBV/Cocteau-styled dream-pop that was by turns disorientating and blissfully soothing - is anything to go by, A Sunny Day In Glasgow will be pulling in a much bigger audience this time around. They'll be playing the venue on May 18th.

Ganglians and High Places to play Whelan's

Ganglians are easily one of this blog's favourite bands of the last year: combining the lo-fi garage-friendly sound associated with many of their Woodsist labelmates with a pastoral vibe that's not a far remove from Fleet Foxes, the two records they released in 2009 - Ganglians and Monster Head Room - were compelling affairs. They'll be playing a gig upstairs in Whelan's on May 21st, a week before they join the Primavera Sound 10th anniversary celebrations.

Before that comes the visit of Brooklyn-based experimentalists High Places, who'll also play upstairs in the same venue on the 5th of May. They've released a new track from their forthcoming album as a free download, link from Pitchfork:
