VisionAir is the new project of Richie Egan (aka Jape) and Niall Byrne, both of the dazzling post-rock collective The Redneck Manifesto. Just earlier today Egan posted a free download of their Autumn EP. The download link is here: http://www.divshare.com/download/12905912-a57 but you can also listen via Soundcloud:
VisionAir wil be playing a free show with the very excellent and very loud Logikparty this Saturday night, it's a U:Mack affair and it's free in to The Button Factory all night long, with U:Mack DJ's taking over after the bands' sets.
Logikparty recently released their High Risk Narcissist EP, which is well worth investigation:
Is the Richter Collective the greatest record label in the world at this point in time? I would have to say yes. They've now gone and signed the very excellent Logikparty, just in time for the release of their High Risk Narcissist EP. The 7-track EP will be a joint release between Richter Collective and Logikparty's own label, White Plague Records. Release date: September 10th. The limited edition 10" vinyl (plus digital download) comes with artwork by Dublin illustrator Niall McCormack.
The EP launch will take place on September 11th at Block T, Smithfield, Dublin 7, with support from special guests Squarehead and Patrick Kelleher. That's a quality line-up right there.
Good tidings ahoy. Logikparty, one of the most exciting bands on the domestic scene at the moment (which is saying something) will be releasing a 7-track EP on September 11. It's the follow-up to the excellent Good Hood/Iodine 7" released earlier this year. Dealing in atonal, no-wave influenced sonic assaults, the band will be supporting Liars in Whelan's next month, and recently collaborated with renowned artist Martha Colburn at the Belfast Trans Festival.
High Risk Narcissist will be released on their own label, White Plaque Records, as a limited edition 10" vinyl along with a download code. Launch details to come.
It's always nice when a support band compliments the headliners, and that's certainly going to be the case when Liars come to visit Whelan's on August 11th. Dublin-based noiseniks Logikparty will be on support duties on the night. Expect them to gain a few more fans: their brand of caustic, dissonant, no-wave influenced post-punk should go down a treat with fans of the similarly-minded NYC trio.
Dublin-based band Logikparty only played their first gig in January of this year, but they're building up quite a head of steam already. I saw them play support to Cap Pas Cap a couple of weeks back in Roisin Dubh and was pretty much blown away by their set.
The four-piece take their cue from the late 70's/early 80's No Wave scene (Teenage Jesus & The Jerks, DNA, James Chance & The Contortions), putting copious amounts of blood in the music: the guitars are caustic and abrasive, the rhythms pummelling and insistent; while frontwoman Benni's vocals match the music for white-hot intensity, with a shriek that recalls vintage Siouxie and the Banshees.
True to their influences, they've also shown a desire to incorporate performance art into their M.O. - they'll be collaborating with New York-based stop motion animator and artist Martha Colburn at next month's Trans Festival in Belfast. Logikparty will be playing a set accompanied by two live 16mm film projections from the filmmaker, with some of the set consisting of once-off improvisation. It all goes down on July 22nd.
Also, you can download this mix they did for Skinny Wolves:

Logikparty play with Children Under Hoof and Fringilla Montifringilla upstairs in Whelan's on July 2nd. They then play a show with the excellent Jogging in Castlebar on 17th July.
