Albums Of The Decade : 20 - Interpol - Antics (2004)

After the dark claustrophobia of their debut album, Interpol broadened out their sound and embraced a more anthemic approach, taking in the quiet-loud dynamics of 'Evil', the intricate, atmospheric guitar lines of 'Narc', the pure pop of 'C'Mere' and the irresistible, propulsive momentum of 'Lenghth of Love'. The swelling, martial arrangement of 'Not Even Jail' proved a soaring highlight on an album so full of bona fide indie-club-slayers that it's directly inspired the name of at least one Dublin club-night.
